By: Michele Borba At: 3/16/2011 9:04 PM
These really are scary times to raise kids. What can you do to help your kids counter negative influences and stand up for what they know is right? The answer is to nurture a solid moral core that will guide them to stand up for their beliefs and act right without us.
Money Talks to Have Before Marriage
By: Ron Lieber At: 3/16/2011 5:50 PM
Divorce tends to be emotionally gut-wrenching for the people who go through it (not to mention those around them). But most couples don’t realize that divorce can also be among the most ruinous financial moves anyone can make.
Money Issues That Can Test Even a Rock-Solid Marriage
By: Ron Lieber At: 3/16/2011 5:48 PM

When a couple first gets together, they may not have the same approach to managing money. But it’s often easy enough to get past any differences when so much of the future is theoretical anyway.

Learning Leadership With a Positive Attitude
By: Solomon Brenner At: 3/16/2011 9:59 AM
It isn't easy to stand up in front of a crowd and take the lead, but at some point we are all called upon to do just that. Whether it is a presentation for school or a class project, you want your child to feel comfortable standing in front of his peers. This confidence is not only important for school, but also for success in his career as an adult.
Communicating With Confidence
By: Solomon Brenner At: 3/16/2011 9:58 AM
One of the most important skills for your child to develop is good communication, which is vital to their ability to make friends, excel in school and problem solve. A shy child may have particular trouble with communication not because they don't know what they want to say, but because they lack the confidence to say it.
Enthusiasm Breeds Success
By: Solomon Brenner At: 3/16/2011 9:56 AM
One of the most important things you can give your child to help him reach his goals is enthusiasm. Nobody ever succeeded at something by being apathetic about it. Yes it's true that opportunities sometimes just come your way, but more often than not we have to go looking for opportunity. If your child doesn't work hard at something that they want, they are never going to get it. You and they have to be proactive in order for them to achieve success.
Making an Effort For More Family Time
By: Solomon Brenner At: 3/16/2011 9:33 AM
Think of one parent you know who doesn't consider themselves a busy person. Can you? The truth is, the average parent has so much to do to take care of their children, their home, their family, their job, and themselves that there doesn't seem to be enough hours in the day to get anything done. While some sacrifices must be made, something that you can't afford to forego is time with your children.
Marvelous Wisdom from the Toolbelt: Getting Married
By: Lex Zander At: 2/24/2011 5:55 AM

It’s the job of every man to be the head of the household.  That may seem and sound chauvinistic, and perhaps it is.  I’m a man, how would I know the difference.  Still, a head cannot operate without the body and limbs, the vital organs, the blood, the spinal column…  In my family, I place myself as the head.  My wife often reminds me that the head is not all inclusive and she reserves the right to hold the status of the Brain, and as she is most often inside my head I have granted her that.  As for the rest of my family, they all have parts.  From my kids who give my heart a reason to pump and blood to flow…as I chase their skinny little asses all over the yard for some trouble or other, to my little toe which belongs to my baby brother.  It has a broken and black nail and is bent at a funny angle, so they look just alike.
